WHY YOU NEED A SCRIPT ANALYST

Your screenplay, is finally completed. Congratulations! What an accomplishment. You’re ahead of the many writers who only dream of holding their manuscript in their hands. Now what?

I hate to tell you: Writing the screenplay was the easy part.

Now you need to make your script the very best it can be. Just as cream rises to the top, your product has to be better than the competition, if you want to succeed.

What should I do next?

FIND A SCRIPT ANALYST

Everyone raves over your work, but a little voice makes you ask yourself: " Is my script really ‘ready’? What if it’s not as good as everyone’s telling me? Do they even know what a great script really is?” Chances are, that little voice knows your script needs more work.

How many times have you heard: “Writing is rewriting.” The idea of rewriting your “baby” can be daunting. Those who will ultimately succeed know that the rewriting step can not be avoided. But where do you start? What’s good? What’s bad? How can you tell the difference? Truth is, at this point in your career, you can’t. You need help.

Chances are, you could use a hand in pin-pointing areas that need improvement. A good script analyst can help you identify problems and weaknesses in your screenplay and provide ways to help you overcome them.

Does my beginning hook the reader? Does my protagonist have a “character arc”? Does my dialogue sprint off the page or lie lifeless? Are there any faults in the logic of my plot? Does my story fall flat in the middle of Act 2? Is my ending so striking that the audience will be talking about it for days?

You need the answers to those questions.

WHAT IS SCRIPT ANALYSIS?

If you need precise, detailed suggestions of how to improve your plot structure, tighten the description and keep the reader interested, then a script analysis is exactly the next step for you.. Do you know how to make your descriptions brief and your dialogue sparkle? If the script has become overly long, script analysis can help you chop out the dead wood and hone your story down to its essence. And isn’t that what you wanted to convey all along?

You want to get your vision across. You need to know that the story in your head is now the story on the page. That’s what a script analysis can do for you.
